Departure from Bari and arrival at Torre Castiglione, one of the most beautiful beaches of the Salento peninsula. Immediately after the stop at Torre Castiglione, we continue with a stop in Porto Cesareo (home to a National Marine Park where you can dive) and Gallipoli, two beautiful cities to visit.
After the last two stops, the journey continues to Santa Maria di Leuca, where the Ionian and Adriatic seas converge.
In this city you can visit the Lighthouse, the Sanctuary of Leuca and the caves Morigio cave, Porcinara cave, Devil’s cave,Tre Porte cave and Presepe cave).
A monumental staircase will also allow you to see the landscape from a fantastic perspective.
The day ends with an overnight stay in the city and with the possibility of spending the evening in one of the many elegant tourist spots on the Cristoforo Colombo promenade. Here you can taste local specialties such as “Pittule” and “Pupiddhri”.
The following day, after a brief stop along the seaside resorts of Castro and Porto Badisco; the journey continues in Otranto – where you can visit the old town, the beautiful Romanesque Cathedral (built over the remains of a Messapian village, a Roman domus and an early Christian temple) and the very famous Castle that gave its name to the first Gothic novel of history (“The Castle of Otranto” by Horace Walpole in 1764) – and then, after these stops, traveling goes on to Lecce.
Once in the capital of Salento, you can visit the historic center (characterized by the presence of the Baroque and its characteristic road system), Piazza S. Oronzo (with the beautiful Basilica of Santa Croce) and the remains of the Roman Amphitheater which it turns, in high season, into a natural stage for events and concerts.
